Did you get a chance to feast your eyes on the Southeastern Designer Showhouse and Gardens last spring? Hosted by our friends at Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, it was a chic showstopper, to say the least, and we were thrilled to be included in a dazzling roster of Southern interior designers. AH & L recently released the photos – and they are fabulous.
We struck gold with our space: the entrance to the utterly charming and gorgeous poorhouse/guest house. We loved it! The 2,500 square foot guesthouse itself was perfection – elegantly designed and completely light-filled with a killer view of the spectacular pool area.
We knew we wanted to channel the sophisticated vibe of the entire house (a whopping 20,000 square feet designed by Dietrich T. Logan of Logan Design Group International and built by Bill Preston and Paradise Builders) so we started with art, of course. Two 60 x 48 complimentary paintings anchored our space, which was bisected by a staircase.
Then we added a little glam and glitz: a marble and gold-toned contemporary console with an antique bench that we recovered with a zebra hide. A few well-placed accessories et voila!
We liked the idea of a drop-dead stunning chandelier as a focal point over the stairwell – and the large windows provided plenty of sparkle when the sun hit the crystals. A nice little collection of smaller abstract paintings took care of the stair landing.
Take a look at some of the other rooms, all conjured up by some of the best designers in the south:
There’s no doubt we were in the company of designing royalty and we loved every minute of it! Stay tuned for coverage of our latest showhouse project: the Cashiers Designers Showhouse. (This event wrapped up a couple weeks ago but here’s a peek at last year’s event.)
And, just because we love it when there a million things happening at once (like trips to Paris and Provence and a client buying extravaganza to an antiques fair outside Paris), we’ll be opening our new location at 3872 Roswell Road (next to Superica!) in the next week or so. We’ll keep you posted.
