Here at Huff Harrington Home, nothing says the holidays like an antique farm table loaded up with the most gorgeous and glossy coffee table books. The Huffington elves always do a great job of curating our books so we’ve got a wonderfully varied assortment with plenty of appeal for everyone.
In between helping our lovely clients cross names off their lists, manning the cash register, wrapping like crazy and re-stocking the shelves, we caught up with some of our Huffingtons to see what books are on their radar:
Ann: The New Formal by James Aman. This book, by interior designer James Aman, is all about integrating contemporary art with home furnishings to create harmonious interiors to inspire and delight collectors. So he practices the philosophy that we’ve preached ever since we started Huff Harrington Fine Art and opened Huff Harrington Home! Why didn’t we think of this first? Oh well. It’s a beautiful book, and one that I hope will magically land under my tree this Christmas (hint hint to my Secret Santa out there!).
Emily: Slim Aarons: Women. Delicious images, superb writing and good gossip lie within the pages of this insightful volume. I spent an evening delving into the interesting and oft glamorous career of Slim Aarons and never wanted the pages to end!
Mackenzie: Unconditional: Older Dogs, Deeper Love. This one had me at “woof.”
Susie: Christmas at Designers’ Homes Across America. A great resource for fun ideas to decorate in the holiday season!
Barbara: Paris Street Style, A Coloring Book. This is a fun fashion coloring book for all ages. I gave one to my granddaughter and my mom.
Linda: David Monn: The Art of Celebrating. Linda, who never met a party she didn’t love, fell madly in love with this spectacularly photographed book that chronicles over-the-top party extravaganzas, from official White House state dinners to the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala.
Allison: Silver Oak Cookbook. What can I say? My husband and I have enjoyed this rich and fabulous red wine for years and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their gorgeous new cookbook. Our recent visit to the vineyard was one of our favorite stops in Napa while staying at Mayacamas Vineyards for our 25th anniversary.
Darlene: Segreto Vignettes. Just open it up and see why there’s no explanation needed!
Sam: Francois Catroux. An insanely gorgeous book about an international master of design. ‘Nuff said!
Heather: Chez Moi: Decorating Your Home and Living like a Parisienne. We knew Heather would gravitate to this clever little book, loaded with lifestyle and decorating tips from a stylish Francaise author.
Babs: At Home with Magnolia. This book is loaded with delicious little recipes that are perfect for my adorable grandchildren.
Meg: If I Live to Be 100. There’s something so sweet about this book. The stories of these old and wise citizens are truly inspiring. (What’s the magic takeaway? You gotta keep laughing. And a little red wine probably doesn’t hurt.)
So, advice from the Huffingtons as we close in on the big day: you can never go wrong with a gorgeous, glossy and engrossing coffee table book. Come see us for a boatload of great selections – and we’ll even wrap it up beautifully for the lucky recipient.
