I’m completely obsessed with a little slice of heaven that comes complete with pink sand beaches, turquoise water, candy-colored houses and a couple uber-fancy hotels and restaurants thrown in for good measure. I’m talking about gorgeous Harbour Island in the Bahamas – that quiet, tiny little paradise where you’re never quite sure if that’s a super model, a multi-billionaire – or even royalty – sitting next to you and ordering up the lobster quesadillas.
Speaking of royalty, India Hicks, 678th in line for the British throne – also model, designer, boutique-owner, author and blogger – will be at Huff Harrington Home on Wednesday, July 15th from 2-4 to introduce her new line of chic, island-inspired personal accessories and jewelry. We’re beyond thrilled to welcome India and soak up her laid-back vibe on everything from design to running various businesses, including to-die-for boutique on Harbour Island, and juggling a family. All in a day’s work, right?
Ms. Hicks calls Harbour Island home and Hibiscus Hill, her beach-front plantation-style abode is a study in her unpretentious and uncomplicated take on life, living and raising a family. Along with David Hicks, they’ve created a gorgeous hideaway that is charming, warm and welcoming. India’s got a new book out, Island Style, that captures the essence of her easy, breezy style that has become part of her iconic brand. Just feast your eyes here:
So, a little confession: I’m just slightly star-struck by Ms. Hicks, whose godfather is Prince Charles and grandfather was Earl Mountbattan, Viceroy of India. She also helped carry Princess Diana’s train at that wedding of the century (I remember waking up to tea and toast at 4 a.m. to watch every second of the wedding.)
I can’t wait to welcome India to Huff Harrington. We’ll have the bubbles bubbling and an array of India’s new products available for order.
I will probably leave my tiara at home, but maybe a little of India’s royal (not to mention elegant) aura will rub off on me!
