(Hi readers: you’re in for a big treat this week. Our cute Emily Jackson (of starter home fame) has been shopping the store all week for her Thanksgiving table and she’s gravitating to some fab pieces. Emily’s got a lovely, tasteful and elegant style that she brings to just about everything she does, so take a peek – and get inspired – Ann and Meg)
And just like that, Thanksgiving is upon us! This year fall may have arrived a bit late but here in Atlanta we have a delightful chill in the air, a generous swathing of autumnal leaves and plenty of holiday cheer at Huff Harrington Home. Box after box filled with chic tabletop and decor have been showing up at our door and it is such a treat to see what we ordered months ago bring a big dose of festivity to our new location. Armed with our favorite china and dining accoutrements, we’ve put together some effortless looks to make your Thanksgiving gathering beautiful and seamless.
First up, timeless with a modern twist. You can never go wrong with your classic china, neutral linens and a bold pop. We paired Arte Italica’s gorgeous white china with seasonally hued napkins and placemats; the piece de resistance? This beaded napkin ring that, coupled with its other beaded siblings, makes quite a fabulous statement. Flanking the table are handsome linen banded dining chairs that complement just about any room and are comfortable to boot. Try adding a seasonal centerpiece to really get your guests talking.
If you prefer noshing on your Thanksgiving feast with an edgier flair, meet trimmed with texture. Adding elements like bone salt and pepper shakers and agate slice coasters, we played up the organic form of our favorite neutral china, Skyros Designs. Patterned napkins, exotic napkin rings or wood salad servers will also lend a global chic vibe.
We love the idea of writing a thankful sentiment for each guest on a cute card and placing it on their plate. Skyros Designs plates have a delicate band of copper that is perfectly accented with, you guessed it, more copper. There’s no better metallic for Thanksgiving we say, so pepper it in each and every way!
Sometimes, the nibbles and bubbly are better than the meal! This inviting spread, we’ll call it garnished for gathering, is perfect for entertaining Friendsgiving guests or the family before you sit down for turkey and fixings. Easy to clean up acacia wood, marble and bone pieces are excellent for serving your light dips, cheese straws and figs.
If you’ve been ogling the seasonal arrangement, Sam, our in-house designer extraordinaire created the centerpiece with cut flowers and produce from Fresh Market. She says anyone can do it, all you need is a block of floral foam, bamboo skewers to anchor the vegetables and a glass of wine to help get the creative juices flowing.
We wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving filled with delicious delights and your nearest and dearest!
P.S. A big merci to Huffingtons Barbara and Sam for helping stage our impromptu photo shoot! When too much light strikes your set, there’s no better blocker than a fabulous painting…
