What happens when you get a group of like-minded women together, mix in some camaraderie and laughs, throw in some spectacular scenery and sight-seeing and add a glass or two of rose, red or bubbles? A Huff Harrington trip to France, of course!
We’re pinching ourselves that this is the eighth year we’ve done our trips to France and we’ve come to realize that they are so much more than just the physical travel. We’ve toured with stay-at-home moms, physicians, lawyers, interior designers and business owners and the story is always the same: at the end of each trips, plentiful friendships have been formed and warm connections made. Along the way, we’ve seen the sights – but also maybe chatted with a fruit vendor about how he grows his produce, learned how to tell anything Louis XV from Louis XVI and visited an artist’s studio/gallery (and that was just one day.)
We’ve just made our 2017 dates official and can’t wait to lead our intrepid travelers through Paris and Provence. Whether you’re shopping for antiques, painting the Provencal countryside – or just need a French fix – we’ve got a trip for you. The beauty of these? We take care of all the nitty-gritty details so you don’t have to. In fact, your big decision for the entire day may be deciding on your lunch entree.
We’ve put a lot of thought into accommodations and we’re always excited to arrive at Les Murets, the warm and welcoming Provencal house (complete with swimming pool, tennis court and magical terrace that’s perfect for sipping and dining) that’s home base for our Provence itineraries. Getting around in Provence is a breeze with Christophe, our driver. In Paris, we choose exclusive and elegant apartments mostly in the chic seventh arrondissement and do as all smart Parisiens do: we mostly take the metro, bus or walk (and believe us, after some of the yummy meals we have, the walks are welcomed.)

Can’t decide between city and countryside? Do both! Spend three bustling days in the City of Light and five heavenly days meandering around Provence, soaking up the glorious sights and scents. In Paris, we’ll cover a lot of ground including a smattering of our fave museums and exhibits, shopping, dining and sight-seeing. We’ll hit the famous flea market for a little antiques therapy and cap off our visit with an evening bike ride through Paris followed by a cruise down the Seine. Then it’s time to exhale as we zip off to Provence via the TGV. Our wonderful driver, the oh- so-charming Christophe, shuttles us around charming villages, spectacular scenery and gets us to and from the many delicious meals that sustain us during the week.
Indulge your inner Francophile with a wonderful week in Provence surrounded by lavender, olive trees and vineyards. During the week, you’ll be deliciously immersed in all things Provencal: local markets brimming with mouth-watering produce and other goodies; locally owned and sourced restaurants; breathtaking vistas; wine tours and even a day trip to our favorite seaside spot. Evenings are spent on the terrace at Les Murets feasting on yummy catered dinners (and yes, there’s plenty of wine.)
If your dream is to set up an easel in the middle of a lavender field and paint to your heart’s content, this is the perfect trip for you. With top-notch, hands-on instruction from a professional artist, you’ll be able to hone your artistic abilities under the Provencal skies. We set up in a different locale each day and add a little shopping, dining and touring to the itinerary to keep you inspired.
Oooh la la! Are you crazy about anything Louis? Can’t stop dreaming about mid-century modern? Join us for our twice-yearly buying trips. We’ll happily lead the way through an antiques fair outside of Paris, the flea market and a couple other little secret shopping stops that we love. We take care of negotiating with vendors and have our shipper handy to pack up your treasures. We add plenty of free time to explore with us or on your own. This trip is fast-paced and action-packed – but we love it.
