48-hour design makeover

How a 48 hour design makeover in San Francisco became a creative tour-de-force.

It was a dream job, and we only had 48 hours to do it. The mission was to help our client pare down 20 years of accumulated stuff, and give her gorgeous San Francisco condo a rebirth to enhance its beautiful bones and maximize the prized setting.

With the help of creative genius Sam Jones, one of our design divas, we headed west for the most action packed, back breaking and entirely exhilarating project we’ve ever done. For 48 hours, our dream client was banished from her condo, leaving us with carte blanche and a mandate not to remove her two most sacred possessions: A beloved cat and the orange couch. We loved them both, so that was easy … and as it turns out, the two went hand-in-hand.

Our client left her home on a Tuesday, and when she returned on Thursday, we led her down the hall, blindfolded, and then opened up the reveal:

The one mandate was to keep the cat happy.
No matter where we moved them, the cat and the couchwent hand in hand …

We hope you’ve enjoyed this little taste of San Francisco.  For us, the icing on the cake was our client’s pure joy as she jumped up and down with the finished product.  If you have an appetite for more, we’ll share our recipe with all its ingredients in another blog.  After all, it may have been just 48 hours in San Francisco, but there was a lot of prep time that took place before.  And we’d be happy to tell you all about it!

Ta ta,

HH

PS  just in … our client, bitten by the design bug, just replaced the lantern in her living room with this chandelier.  You like?  We love – and now we’re the ones jumping up and down!

With chandelier
Bravo to our client on her choice of a fab new chandie to replace the lantern in her Living Room!

    Well done!
How refreshing to see the exact same angles of the “before” and “after”.

Hi Andreea, believe it or not, it’s from Ikea! They’re our favorite rugs for highly trafficked areas and you can’t beat the price.
