What really happens when we receive a container of France? As we unpack our very latest treasures from France, we’ve enjoyed reliving the buying process, and all the fun adventures that accompany it.
It is all It all starts with a trip to Paris. And with that, the very first thing we do is visit our favorite florist on the rue Cler, because nothing says “bienvenue” to Paris like a bouquet of fresh roses! This time, our clients stayed in three different apartments … so three different bouquets.
From then on, we follow a grueling schedule that is so much fun, we just can’t stop! We hit markets in Paris, markets in northern France, and markets across the south of France, always looking for that special, one-of-a-kind item that cries out to us from the under a stack.
When the stars align correctly, and the timing is right, we get to attend an Easter Sunday service at the American Cathedral in Paris! What a treat. But there is no rest for the weary, and we’ll finish the day shopping at the “Puces” in Paris, spotting more goodies in hidden corners, and ending the day with a new purchase … and a little bubbly to celebrate!
After the shopping, the waiting game begins until we get that exciting that the ship has successfully sailed.
Fast forward a couple of weeks, and it’s all hands on deck time at Huff Harrington Home! Hurrah, the container has arrived and we’re ready to tackle it with a smile!
We have it down to a system. When the container arrives, we all help unpack, count, check, and shoot … so that the next thing you’ll see is the finished product:
The process of buying a container is exciting, exhilarating, expensive (!) and exhausting! But it’s worth every minute when it all comes together beautifully in the store. And at the end of the day, we have to chuckle when we look at our happy “new” clock, that smiles sweetly reminding us of how much fun we’ve had, behind the scenes, in France … where it’s always five o’clock, no matter what we’re doing!
Won’t you join us some time, and see what it’s really like behind the scenes?
