You already know that we love art. And of course we love houses. And so it doesn’t get much better than a fabulous artist’s fabulous house, especially when it is unexpected, original, creative, exciting … and oh so beautiful.
That describes the amazing loft home that our artist Carylon Killebrew and her husband created in a commercial part of downtown Chattanooga, using recycled materials, centuries old wooden beams and vintage industrial elements. Beautifully photographed by Med Dement of Chattanooga’s House of Photography for CityScope magazine, this remarkable home is a testament to the creativity and vision of one talented artist and her husband.
You are in for a treat, so sit back, relax and enjoy the tour … from the minute you enter the front door.
As we approach Thanksgiving this year, can you just imagine the fun, multi-generational family gatherings that take place around this warm and wonderful dining room? Knowing Carylon, it will be a festively decorated, warm and friendly feast, with oodles of grandchildren and lots of happy peeps.
The family room has another signature Killebrew painting of an endearing dog, who bears a remarkable resemblance to “Rossman, The Superhero at Heart,” a lovely book by Julie Guerry and llustrated by Carylon Killebrew.
Thank you, Carylon, for sharing a glimpse of the beautiful home you’ve created, and happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
As we all prepare for Thanksgiving this week, and think about the things for which we are thankful, we always count our artists among our many happy blessings. We thank them all wholeheartedly for their creativity and inspiration, and for the beauty they surround us with, every single day!
May you all have a warm, safe and happy Thanksgiving.
