Every time we do a painting trip to Provence, we learn a new vocabulary from our artists. This time, our wonderful artist and teacher extraordinaire, Bethanne Kinsella Cople, taught us a couple of new phrases. There was the “alien color” that Bethanne used to describe the unexpected, splash of color that you throw in at the last minute to offest the complementaries in a painting. We had aliens creeping in all week long! And “paint like a millionaire” which is her way of encouraging her students to be bold, daring and unafraid to use all the paint they need on their palettes. We’re happy to say, the artists learned to embrace their riches! And last but not least, in seemingly every scene that we viewed and every thing that we touched, the word “delicious” seemed to sum it up best.
So here is a pictorial ode to our delicious artists and art teacher, from their (delicious) week in Provence:
We owe it all to the thoughtful, creative, energetic, helpful, caring, funny and ever so talented painting teacher that led our seven artists so brilliantly: From the bottom of our hearts, Bethanne, you are the bomb and your workshop is absolutely delicious!
Thank you for making this trip so special and thank you for bringing such wonderful students along. Oh and please, please, pretty please …. Will you come back and teach another (delicious) workshop for us? We’d be so honored!
