We’re up to our eyeballs with all things design right now and we’re feeling ever so inspired by the magnificent array of talent that’s up at the Cashiers Historical Society showhouse.
We got a little sneak peek at some of the spaces up at Cashiers and one thing is for sure: there are some dreamy bedrooms ! We’re not allowed to brag about any of them yet (you’ll see them in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles at some point – or, better yet, hop in your car and drive up to see them first-hand) but we were left with our jaws dropping. They are all different but all have similar elements: gorgeous art, yummy fittings of windows, beds and upholstery and all impart of sense of calm and serenity.
On the drive back down the mountain, we got to chatting about some of our favorite bedrooms so, of course, we had to feature them here. Take a peek:
Going for the glam:
Make room for art:
Soothing, quiet art adds a layer of visual interest to the bedroom. We like soft abstracts, elegant landscapes or evocative figures.
Bedrooms can be low-key, soft and soothing with a color palette that whispers instead of shouts. And headboards can become instant focal points with creative upholstery and workmanship (one of our favorite designers, Barbara Heath, is using a 19th-century painted French trumeau to create a spectacular headboard for her client. No photos yet but we’ll keep you posted!)
Beside the bed:
Don’t forget the linens:
We’re crazy about nice sheets and we’ve always got our eyes peeled for fabulous linens. Our cute friends at Gramercy Linens have a wonderful selection of just about anything you could possibly want on a bed. And, is there anything better than a gorgeous monogram? Try Buckhead’s South of Hampton for one-of-a-kind monograms on pillows, shams, blankets or whatever else needs that special touch.
What are your bedroom go-to’s? Gorgeous linens? Sumptuous window treatments? Pretty and functional bedside tables? And how do you feel about a TV in the bedroom? We’d love to know all the things that make your bedroom perfect – and in the meantime, sleep tight and sweet dreams!
